The Challenge

Baguio is located in a seismically active region where earthquakes pose significant risks to public safety and critical infrastructure. Many public and private buildings may be vulnerable to seismic hazards, but limited data on structural conditions and risk levels makes it difficult to prioritize retrofitting and resilience investments.

The City is seeking innovative approaches to assess the structural integrity of buildings using advanced risk assessment and spatial analysis. Solutions should support the identification of high-risk structures, leverage 3D seismic hazard mapping, and provide evidence-based prioritization for retrofitting to reduce disaster risks and improve the safety and resilience of the built environment.
